Movie Review: Hansel and Gretel: the witch hunters

Overall ratting: 3.5/5

I watched this movie with my little brother, honestly I was skeptical to see this movie, however I am a fan of Jeremy Renner, so I thought, why not!!!

I have to say I actually like this movie. I think both Gemma Arterton and Jeremy Renner are very good in this movie. I enjoy the acting and the action of this film, I think the cast act very well. The story is actually very entertaining; however there is somethings that I feel they did not explain very well and it left me confused. I'm not sure if I just missed it or they did a poor job explaining certain things. I will have to watch the movie again to know.

Another thing I enjoy is the custom, I think they did a great job mixing modern with medieval attire. The same thing goes for the weapons. I love movies with awesome weapons; I don't mean hand guns and grenade. I'm more of a sword, bow and arrows, and crossbow kind of person. In this movie, you will see all sort of weapons and some even a mix between two weapons.

What I don't like about the movie? besides the poor explanation to things, I don't care for how bloody this movie is. I did not expect blood splatter all over and body organs flying everywhere. I know it's a violent movie, but I didn't expect the gore. That's why I took off 1.5 point.

Will I see this movie again? probably, when it's on DVD.
Will I take my little cousin who is under 10yrs old to see it? probably not  (this movie is rated R so I won't take anyone under 14 to see it; any way you need parents if you are under 17).
Do I think this movie worth paying full price at movie theater? No, I don't think it's worth it (Full price is $12 here where I live. I watch it matinee for $6; then I think it's worth it).
Will I recommend this to a friend? Only if they like gore and violent.
Did I have fun watching the movie? Off course, Jeremy Renner is in it, do I need to say more? ;)
