Mac haul

Recently I went to MAC store and bought a few things (some I order online). MAC is not exactly my favorite brand for makeup, however I do love their eyeshadows and lip colors :)) Got to admit the eyeshadows are very pigmented and the lip colors are gorgeous and long lasting. I am not too impressed with their foundation however :((

Anyway, I wanted to share with you what I recently bought at MAC store and online.

1. MAC blending brush (#217) and blush (mocha)
I heard lots of good thing about MAC blending brush and I am in need of a small blending brush. This brush is awesome; its definitely worth the price.

I've been wanting a plum color blush. This one has a pink undertone and it look great with my skin tone. Some plum color blush can look muddy on a darker skin tone like mine so I have to be careful. This one however look gorgeous on my skin tone :)) not muddy at all.

2. MAC costume pallets
I really thank MAC for coming up with costume pallets. I do love some of MAC eye shadows, they are pigmented and very pretty. The colors that I picked are a mix between fun colors and natural color. I love the costume palletes so much and I am considering getting another one :)

The colors I got are:

white frost   Paradisco    espresso      goldenrod
satin taupe  deep truth   orange         electra
soft brown   goldmine     Swiss           vibrant                                                                           -                                 Chocolate       grape

3. MAC holiday collection: Ice delights lip bag/sultry
This collection comes with a lip pencil(boldly bare), a lipstick(I love winter) and a lip gloss(delight). The color is gorgeous :)) and fit my complexion very well. They are perfect for the fall/winter time. The color is very warm with a pink undertone to it. You can use this color anytime of day because it's a warm color, you can't over do it :)) I definitely recommend this for the fall/winter time.

4. MAC holiday collection: dazzlesphere smokey blue ornaments. This collection consist of 4 different glitters and all of them are very pigmented and gorgeous. The packaging is very convenient as well. You can stack all four on top of one another. Overall, I really like this holiday collection.

5. MAC holiday collection: dazzlesphere coral ornament x4. This collection consists of four lip glosses: phiff!; on the scene; richer, lusher; and eurobeat. These colors are good for everyday use and more for the day time. I don't have coral lip glosses so these are perfect for me. They make a good gift too :))

That is all for the MAC haul. I hope they will come out with more amazing stuff. I plan to get another pro-palette for the eye shadow and blush. When I get them I will post them here. Until next time...

Green smokey eyeshadow

I want to show you guys how to do a green smokey eyes today :)). I like green smokey eyes because its fun, colorful, and softer than the traditional black smokey eyes.

 Alrity, lets get started:

First you need to prep your face with BB cream, tinted moisturizer or foundation. Then conceal dark circles with concealer and lastly prep the eyes with eye shadow primer (I used too faced primer potion:))

Now lets go to the eyes (I'm using my 120 color palate):
1. Take some yellowish green color and put on from inner corner of the lid, half way to the middle of the lid.

2. Then take a lime green color and put in on the rest of the lid. Remember to put it on only until the crease of your lid.

3. Then using a blending brush take a dark green color, starting from the corner of your eye blend toward your crease. Use the same dark green to line the bottom half of your eyelid.

4. Take the yellowish green from before and line the rest of the bottom eyelid.
5. Take a gel liner and line your upper lash line as close to the hairline as you can.
6. Curl your lashes and add mascara :))
7. Since the eyes are very bright you want to keep the rest of the face neutral, so I use bronzer to contour the face and the nose.

And that's it :))) It's really easy to do and like I said it's a fun look. I think this look is good for spring and summer. I  know I post it late but I thought why not? And this is the final look:

September favorites

Hello everyone,
I cant believe how time just flew by and it is already October. I saw a video of favorite products of September on youtube and decided to post one on my blog :))) So here it is:

1. My HTC Thunderbolt
I finally got my phone upgraded to this awesome phone. I love how big the screen is so you can watch videos and you don't have to squint your eyes to read the writings. At first the battery didn't last more than 6hrs max, but I turn off all the unnecessary apps and it last all day no problem :) The touch screen is very good also, deff. comparable to iphone. This phone also has a stand, so you can put it up, just like the pic :)) The only down side to this phone is the weight, it is quite heavy for a phone, but other than that it is an awesome phone.

 2. Phone cover
I got a cover for my new phone for $15; I got it in Ontario Mills Mall. It is made out of plastic and I prefer the hard plastic casing to the silicone one because the hard plastic casing have safe lots of my phones in the past when I drop it, where the silicone doesn't do anything.

3. Dolly wink liquid eyeliner
I don't usually use liquid liner because it runs and it gets into my eyes, but this liner is different. This one doesn't run and very easy to control. I like it a lot; the only down side is that you have to order this one online because it is a Japanese product (go to ebay). Another good alternative would be urban decay 24/7 liquid liner :))

4. Mac mineral powder
My color is medium plus. I like this powder because it blends well with whatever you put underneath it weather its is BB cream or foundation. It has smooth finish and doesn't give you a powdery finish like other powder.

5. Makeup forever lipstick in shade #31 (mauve pink)
I love the color of this lipstick because it comes out purplish pink (mauve pink) and it is something you can wear on the daily basis. It looks good with natural eye makeup. I do recommend using lip balm before the lipstick.

 6. Mac lipstick in modesty
Can't you tell that I'm obsess with lip color right now lol I love this lipstick because once again this lipstick is good for everyday wear because of the neutral color. It will go with any kind of make up  you wear. It has a little bit of shine to it so lip gloss is not necessary. I do recommend to wear lip balm before the lipstick.

7. Maybelline flasies mascara in black drama (waterproof)
I love this mascara because for one the price and second it works :))) I don't usually think highly of drug store mascara because usually it doesn't work, but this one is not so at all. This mascara really give your eyelashes more volume and it fans it out to give you fake eyelash look. I choose the black drama one because I like the color to be intense black which I think it just look gorgeous ;) I choose the waterproof one because I will be wearing this mascara more for special occasions than on daily basis and during rainy days it's good to have a waterproof mascara :)))

8. Skin food nail polish remover
First of all I love this brand :)) This brand is from Korea; before you can only get this product online, but recently they open a store close to me (Westfield mall, West Covina) and another on in Irvine. What I like about this nail polish remover is the smell; it doesn't smell like other regular nail polish remover because it has grapefruit extract, it smell like grapefruit. For $4 this product works wonder. I only use 1 cotton ball to remove the polish from one hand and you don't need much of it :))) I can say that I found my ultimate favorite nail polish remover.

That's it for my favorite products of the month, I hope you enjoy it and until next time.

Clubbing night

Me and Giselle
Me and a few friends went clubbing about 2 weeks ago in West Covina. I remember nothing went as I planned, including my makeup and my dress. I was about to go wearing a black top, jeans, and heels, but Blaise (my friend) told me not to, so I ended up wearing this dress (a bright blue lol). The first makeup that I did made me look scary, so I ending up redoing it to a smokey eye. I ended up liking the smokey eyes a lot and decided to put it in my blog :)))
My gray smokey eyes
I know the eye shadow look black in the picture, but it actually dark grey. I feel that using dark gray instead of black will make the smokey eyes softer but still dramatic. The products that I use to create this smokey eyes are listed below.

1. 120 color palate in metallic silver: I use this for all over lid color.

2. Urban decay naked palate in gun metal: I use this for the corner of my eyes, but don't blend to the crease.

3. Urban decay 15th anniversary palate in half truth:  I use this for the corner of my eyes on top of gun metal and blend it upwards towards the crease and I line my bottom lashes with it as well.

4. Wet n Wild gel eyeliner in black: I use this to line my top eyelash
5. Clinique creme shaper in black diamond: I use this to line my waterline on my bottom lashes.
6. Maybaline falsies waterproof mascara: I use the waterproof mascara because I don't want it to go all over the place when I dance and I want it to be sweat proof.
7. NYX jumbo eye pencil in milk: I use this to line the corner my eyes and then I blend it with my finger. This will open up my eyes a little bit more.
8. Origins brow pencil in brunette: I use this to fill in my brow because mine is uneven

 9. Nars blush in orgasm: I use this on the apple of my cheeks to give my face some color, but don't put too much, you want your eyes to standout.
10. Stilla bronzer in shade 2: I use this to contour my face and my nose.
11. Victoria Secret highlighter/blush in stardust: I use this to highlight my cheekbone and above my brow.

12. Estee lauder pure color lipstick in sunstone: I put this all over my lips
13. Makeup forever rouge artist intense lipstick in 23: I put this on top of sunstone to nude out the color a little bit

The finish look

I really like this look because it goes with whatever you are wearing; for example I can use this look with my black top or my blue dress. That's it for now :)))

Introduction

Hello,

My name is Alvina Osborne (chinese name is Fay Ming) and this is my first time blogging. I think this is going to be fun :)) What I plan to put in this blog are things that I like or love and its going to be clothing, make-up, books, movie, restaurant, stores, etc. I was inspired by lots of youtubers who creates blogs and youtube videos to help others by sharing their passion for beauty and fashion and also by being themselves. I thought I would like to do that as well. I'm camera shy so I don't think I want to create a youtube video, so I decided to create this instead :)) So enough talking and lets start!!!
